Yajiro Traditional Kokeshi, Hideyuki Sato, Sacred Tree
$46.00
Quantity Available: 2
Inventory Number: 50147
NAME: Japanese Traditional Yajiro kokeshi
MAKER: Hideyuki Sato
SIZE: 7-3/4" (19.8cm)
CONDITION: New, however, one doll has a few small oval flat dents on the back of the head and 2 minor scratches. This is a soft wood and maybe was damaged in transit? It just occurred to me that these dolls survived the big earthquake. Maybe the damage happened at that time.
The third doll has 6 short but wide dents, two to the upper right of the face, one on the back of the head and three on the right side of the body. Again, damaged in transit or earthquake? THIS DOLL WILL SHIP LAST.
NOTES: These dolls are made of wood from the sacred tree (Shinto). I believe it may be Japanese cypress (hinoki), very light weight and considered a soft wood.
Created and signed by 3rd generation craftsman, Hideyuki Sato of Kijidokoro-Sato. Mr. Sato was born in 1977.
Please keep in mind that this shipment was received when the dollar was near an all time low exchange rate with the yen and makes them much pricier than usual. They are only marked up a modest percentage over the Sato catalog price.
INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: Shipping on this doll will cost up to US$13 or US$5 over the automatic charge of $8.00 for U.S. addresses. Please contact us with intent to buy so that it can be packed, weighed and the extra shipping charges added to the doll BEFORE the purchase is made.
