Japanese traditional Yajiro style kokeshi made and signed by craftman and master Seikou Sato of Kijidokoro-Sato.
This kokeshi is an "old style" of doll from early Showa period (1926-1989). With lovely chrysanthemums, it measures 8-1/2" tall (doll #2 is 8-3/8") with a base diameter of 1-3/4". Also listed is a larger version of the same doll. This doll is the shorter of the two in the second picture.
Special notation: All of the Kijidokoro-Sato dolls are NEW. However, many of the dolls in this shipment were damaged (dents, scratches, paint smears) during transit. Any damage will be so noted.
CONDITION: Doll #1 has a few dents on the back left side of the head. Doll #2 has 2 dents on the right side of the body, three dents just under the top flower and a few shallow dents around and about the right eye. It also had a paint smudge above the right eye as seen in the picture 2 but most has been removed upon instructions from Mr. Sato. The price has been adjusted accordingly.
