NAME: Togatta traditional kokeshi

MAKER: Kouichi Sato*

SIZE: 13-1/4" (34cm)

CONDITION: Small dent below the right eye and a ding on the forehead. Two spots on the back of the head with multiple dents. The dents near the top of the head are larger. The cluster just below the middle are long but very light.

The body has two good sized vertical dents mid body front. Couple of red spots of paint that splashed from somewhere. I don't think it came from this doll. An oval spot on the upper front is the grain coloring. Few other minor to small dents elsewhere. The greens have faded.

NOTES: Mr. Sato was born in 1929.

This doll had some green design on either side of the forehead. Green is not often seen on the head.
