Tengu Japanese Folkcraft, Wooden Pop Gun Toy
Sold
Very humorous Japanese Tengu wooden pop gun. Tengu is a goblin in Japanese folklore and is traditionally red with a long nose. The maker creatively uses the nose as the barrel of the gun. Made of wood, it measures about 10" long and his face is 3-1/2" high. The handle/plunger, which pulls the cork in place as wells as builds the pressure, has a material of some kind at the end which was attached slightly off center. I can get it to work fine, but if it fails to pop, simply uncork it and try it again OR pump the handle several times to build pressure OR turn the handle to a different position. This is new old inventory from a closed handicraft store in Japan. It is in good condition with light scuffing and soiling as it's been in long term storage.
