Tengu Folk Craft Wooden Face Toy(?)

Very unusual Japanese folk craft. It is the face of Tengu (goblin in Japanese folklore). Tengu is traditionally red with a large nose. This one wears a hat with silk braided ties, is red and has a long nose. (See side profile picture). The facial features are burnt wood outlined. It measures 4-1/4" high, 3-7/8" across and 2-1/2" deep. He is made of bamboo and has a piece of bamboo glued to the bottom which allows it to stand. There are a couple labels on the back as well as a stamp. Except for a crack in the middle of the hat which runs along the grain of the wood but doesn't go all the way through and slightly faded hat ties, it is in excellent condition.
