Sato Yajiro Ejiko Kokeshi, Plum Branch
Sold
NAME: Yajiro traditional Japanese kokeshi Ejiko.
MAKER: Hideyuki Sato
SIZE: approx 3" high, 2-3/4" diameter
CONDITION: New
NOTES: An ejiko represents a baby in a basket. In years gone by, when all hands were needed in the fields, the babies would have to go too. They would be bundled up and placed in a basket for safe keeping.
The body is rounded on the bottom so it rolls around in the basket. So cute! The basket is designed with a plum branch and has a different design on back.
The picture is a stock photo. The ejiko you will get will be similar but since these are all hand made, it will not be exactly as pictured.
Hideyuki Sato of Kijidokoro-Sato is a 3rd generation craftsman.
