Kokeshi based on a folk song called "Otemoyan". Otemoyan and her husband's heads are attached to an old rice pot. The rice pot has a 1/4" strip of wood missing from a rim and a dent on the lid. Website Kumamotoben.jp has an a informative explanation and words to the Otemoyan song.
