Narugo Vintage Kokeshi 9-1/2"

Narugo style vintage kokeshi measuring 9-1/2" tall with a diameter at the base of 2-1/4". Narugo kokeshi dolls have a solid, secure columnar body that curves in slightly towards the middle, curved bangs with "sidelocks" (not called sideburns) and red designs radiating out from the tuft of hair atop the head. Because of a unique technique used to attach the head to the torso, the dolls "squeak" when the head is turned. This doll has a small scratch on right side of the head, a little wear to the finish and small areas of paint bleeding. Signed on the bottom.
