NAME: Modern creative Japanese kokeshi, original box
MAKER: Masao Watanabe
SIZE: 16" (40cm)
CONDITION: Very good condition. May never have been displayed. Few light dings and scratches on the back of the head. Box is showing it's age.
NOTES: The name of the doll is Saishu (彩秋) meaning Autumn colors. The design is all carved.
Mr. Watanabe was born in 1917 and passed in 2007. Winner of many awards including top prize, the Prime Minister Award several times.
