NAME: Modern Japanese creative kokeshi

CONDITION: Few smaller dents on the head including one above the left eye and on the bangs. Two dings on the lower front bottom of the doll.
NOTES: Mr. Watanabe was born in 1917 and passed in 2007. Winner of many awards including top prize, the Prime Minister Award several times. Master Craftsman and teacher to his son Yuji and grandson Kunihiko.
The name of the doll is Hatsuhana or "First Flower" and is dated 1974. Done in one piece, it has a nice feel about it.
