NAME: Modern creative Japanese kokeshi
MAKER: Kazuo Takamizawa
SIZE: 5-3/8" (13.8cm)
CONDITION: Couple of dings on the left side of the head. What looks like three large dents on the back of the body are more likely natural flaws in the wood under the paint. Many tiny vertical lines go around the bun but that's also flawed wood.
NOTES: Mr. Takamizawa was born in 1927. He is a multi-award winning artist including the Prime Minister Award.
The design is fully burnt wood style and it is quite detailed for the size. The design goes 3/4 around the body.
