NAME: Modern creative Japanese kokeshi

SIZE: 10-3/16" (26.5cm)

CONDITION: Minor dents and dings. Hairline crack on the bun. The crack extends out from the center of the wood and it is wood's natural tendency to crack from the center out. Also several cracks around a knot on the back of the head, which is also a normal thing wood does. The finish is chipped in a spot on the upper body, lower left.

NOTES: Unusual designed doll. Made from four pieces of wood. Lacquered finish. Nice flower design which I think is painted in gold to give it an extra sheen through the lacquer. You can see some of it where the lacquer is chipped.
