Miniature Merchant's Fabric Tansu, #2
$85.00
Quantity Available: 1
Inventory Number: 30982
NAME: Miniature merchant's fabric tansu
SIZE: 6" tall, 5-5/8" wide, 2-3/4" deep.
CONDITION: Probably from early Showa (30's) and has age appropriate dents, scratches and soiling. The only readily seen "problems" are two large dents, one on the left edge and one at the right top edge. There is a small piece of wood missing from the back bottom corner.
The bolts of cloth are made up of pieces of material attached to the front of a pieces of wood. The fabrics are age soiled, have a few holes and one red cloth is very worn on both ends.
NOTES: Made of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. The drawers are fake (just a front) and are made of a different type of wood. The fabrics all appear to be silk and cottons, including one felt. The pieces of the tansu were joined using wooden nails.
This was either made as a Girl's Day Display piece or a child's toy and is not perfect. It is also 70+ years old and the condition is not perfect. It is used and it is old. Please understand this before purchasing.
