Miniature Merchant's Fabric Tansu, #1
$85.00
Quantity Available: 1
Inventory Number: 30981
NAME: Miniature merchant's fabric tansu
SIZE: 5-1/2" tall, 5-13/16" wide, 2-1/4" deep.
CONDITION: Probably from early Showa (30's) and has age appropriate dents, scratches and soiling. The only readily seen "problems" are a larger dent on the edge of the left side that has splitered some of the wood and a vertical dent on the upper right edge. Top corners are worn and the back piece is about 1/8" too narrow.
The bolts of cloth are made up of pieces of material attached to the front of pieces of wood. The fabrics are age soiled, have a few holes and black bolt's cloth has heavily worn off.
NOTES: Made of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. The drawer is fake (just a front). The fabrics all appear to be silk. The pieces of the tansu were joined using wooden nails.
This was either made as a Girl's Day Display piece or a child's toy and is not perfect. It is also 70+ years old and the condition is not perfect. It is used and it is old. Please understand this before purchasing.
