Vintage Japanese Kiyomizu komori or babysitter kokeshi, measuring approximately 3-1/2" tall with a body diameter of 1-7/8". Fashioned after the creative babysitter kokeshi, she is mint (new old stock) in original box.

Kiyomizu-ware (Kiyomizu-yaki) is a term for a style of porcelain made in Kyoto. Dating back hundreds of years, it's always hand painted. The bottom is marked "Shimizu" (area or port).

Probably from the 1950's, there are several different styles listed. They may have dust or dirt but they wipe clean. Most are still wrapped in their original paper, however, the paper is yellowed and fragile with age. All are in their original gift box but the boxes may be soiled or have corners split.
