Keshi Ningyo, Aoi Matsuri, Small (#31080)

NAME: Keshi Ningyo of the Aoi Matsuri (festival) parade in Kyoto.

SIZE: The dolls are around 3/4" tall (some variations). The box measures 6-1/2" long x 2-5/16" deep x 1-7/8" high.

CONDITION: Short version, mid age set (60's to 80's), 9 figures, ox w/cart and steps. COMPLETE.

Some age spots on the silk. Cart poles are no longer attached to the ox.

NOTES: Aoi Matsuri (Hollyhock Festival) or Kamo Festival is held on May 15th and is one of the three big festivals held in Kyoto every year. The style of the parade is fashioned from the Heian Period Court and everything is adorned with hollyhock.
