NAME: Keshi Ningyo of the Jidai Matsuri (festival) parade in Kyoto.
SIZE: The dolls are around 5/8 to 3/4" tall (some variations).
The box measures 13-5/8" long x 1-3/4" deep x 1-7/8" high.
CONDITION: Mid aged set (60's-70's), 31 figures including two on horses. All figures accounted for but one of the band members has part of his left side missing.
The banners may have a little fraying. Some age spots and a stain on silk. Large crack on the top of the lid.
NOTES: Jidai Matsuri is held on October 22nd is one of the three big festivals held in Kyoto every year. It is called the "Festival of Ages" and has about 2,000 participants dressed in costumes from most periods in Japanese history as well as historic figures. It celebrates the anniversary of the founding of Kyoto.
