Keshi Ningyo, Gion Matsuri, Small (#31034)
$95.00
Quantity Available: 1
Inventory Number: 31034
NAME: Keshi Ningyo of the Gion Matsuri (festival) parade in Kyoto, small version
SIZE: The dolls are around 5/8" tall (some variations).
The box measures 6-1/2" long x 2-3/16" deep x 2" high.
CONDITION: Early to mid age set (50's-60's), 13 figures and a float (giant cart). All figures accounted for but 7 of the float haulers may have hats missing. Decorated pole that sits atop the float is also missing.
Very rare Gion. Short style but have never seen a long set. Except for this one, rarely are lids seen with these. I'm not sure if they were issued with these as standard sized lids would not fit because of the height of the float. Most are also missing the decorated (pole) that sits atop the cart.
NOTES: The Gion Matsuri is held in July. This scene belongs to the Yamaboko Junko or procession of floats. The type of float is called "hoko", which are enormous in real life and are pulled by people.
