NAME: Japanese ema or prayer board with an ox representing the "Year of the Ox".<
SIZE: Height 3-1/2" (8.9cm) to the top point, 5-7/16" (14cm) long
CONDITION: Few light scratches and a small dent on the top edge.
NOTES: An ema board or prayer board is a method by which people make wishes, prayers or thanks to the dieties by writing it down on the board and hanging it at a shrine. The art work traditionally depicts the Zodiac animals, historic stories, folklore characters and stories, etc., but modern characters are also included now. Ema boards which have been offered are not resold.
