NAME: Japanese ema or prayer board with an ox and money bag(?), representing the "Year of the Ox".

SIZE: Height 3-7/16" (8.7cm) to the top point, 5-3/8" (13.8cm) long

CONDITION: Light scratches and dings on the back.

NOTES: An ema board or prayer board is a method by which people make wishes, prayers or thanks to the dieties by writing it down on the board and hanging it at a shrine. The art work traditionally depicts the Zodiac animals, historic stories, folklore characters and stories, etc., but modern characters are also included now.
