Gosho-Like Doll & Clay Horse Folk Crafts

NAME: Vintage Japanese folk crafts of a composite gosho-like doll and a clay horse

SIZE: 3-1/8" & 3-1/2"

CONDITION: The composite figure has dried out and shows a lot of small cracks. It looks like it was made in two pieces and the seam has some gaps. A previous owner wrote something on the left side of the horse and the date on the rear in marker.

NOTES: The horse is dated 1971.

The gosho-like doll has the large round face and heavy limbs of a gosho doll but is a composite (sawdust and glue). Similar to what you find under many Japanese dolls but this one does not have a finish coat. Interesting item.
