Suggestions for the care of Japanese Kokeshi and woodwork.
- Display out of the path of direct sunlight
- As with textiles, the colors that will fade first are the blues , greens, and purples
- Do not touch with wet hands or let the item come in contact with water
- Keep dust free. Use of a soft natural bristle brush works well.
- Spots can sometimes be removed with a pencil eraser. Use caution. Test in an inconspicuous place.
- Moisture added in heating season wouldn't hurt. If display area does not have humidified air, in and about, added moisture placed near the dolls may help prevent them from drying out. This can be accomplished by filling a small bowl or tea cup with water. Adding a few cotton balls will slow down the evaporation process.
