NAME: Japanese Creative kokeshi of Samurai escorting a mother and a child in a palanquin with original box. They are probably of the imperial house.

SIZE: The dolls are about 1-1/8" tall, overall height is 2-3/4", the stand is 7-1/4 x 1-7/8"

CONDITION: Whitish appearance from aging varnish. The box and lid show the age, dented, torn or partially torn corners.

NOTES: The edges and feet of the stand are painted gold, so you know it's someone of importance. The pine needles are as green and fresh as the day they were made.

All the dolls were made as nodders but they are tight fitting and only the samurai with the hat nods.

First time I've seen a child in a palanquin. So cute!
