NAME: Creative Japanese kokeshi
MAKER: Akinori Takahashi
SIZE: 12" (30.4cm)
CONDITION: Short shallow, wide dent above the nose and aother similar dent on the left hair tuft.
NOTES: Mr. Takahashi was trained by his father, Hashime. The eyes were Hashime's trademark and the style has passed to his son.
Apparently the Takahashi's do not make a lot of kokeshi currently as they are busy with another folkcraft. Not a lot of Akinori dolls seem to be available.
I do have the next size larger doll (14-1/4") currently listed.
