NAME: Creative Japanese kokeshi of the Diety Kannon, wood box and gift box
MAKER: Kato (Signed on the inside wooden box lid)
SIZE: 13-1/8" including the stand (33.5cm)
CONDITION: Looks mint. Cardboard shows normal age issues.
NOTES: Kannon is the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion. The base comes off and a tightly rolled paper inside is a sutra. There is also an additional information sheet in the box (in Japanese).
Always thought this was a most beautiful doll and is even more so in person. Very fine work. Feels wonderful to the touch.
