NAME: Antique Japanese Samurai arrow fusuma, Boy's Day display

It was called an "arrow fusuma". Fusuma are moveable panels like shoji doors.

AGE: Taisho (1912-1926)

SIZE: Overall height is 25-1/4" (64.2cm). The arrows measure 19" (48.2cm) and the display stand is a large 21-3/4" (55.3cm) x 17" (43cm) x 3-3/8" (8.5cm) high.

CONDITION: It's nearly 100 years old and is in good condition for it's age with minimal wear and tear. A very few of the feathers look a little ratty. One arrow is missing one of three feathers. They appear to be made of bamboo and may be slightly warped or it may be natural.

The stand has light dents, scratches and one spot on top where a knot has cracked the lacquer. The wood is separating at some of the seams, as often happens with age, and the lacquer is cracked or is chipping (nothing major).

NOTES: There are 20 arrows with no points and 2 holders. The arrow holders are two pieces each, with a hinge and have pictures carved out in the wood. The main stand also has a decorative cutout in front.

Large display item that can be used with a Samurai doll, helmet, etc.

This will be mailed parcel post. It will be a very large shipping box and will be charged a high surcharge for an oversize package if mailed priority. You are, however, welcome to pay the difference of $30.00+ to upgrade the shipping.
