NAME: Yajiro traditional Japanese wooden truck pull toy with lots of tops

MAKER: Tsuta family, Yajiro kokeshi & toy craftsmen

SIZE: 6-1/2" (16.7cm) high, 9-3/8" (24cm) long

CONDITION: Unused, looks mint. Some small dents on the top of the large umbrella top look like irregular marks in the wood under the paint (manufacture flaw).

NOTES: Just as kokeshi craftsmen, this trade is handed down from generation to generation. The Tsuta family consists of the father Sakuzou (d1957 @ 66), son/brother Mamoru (d2009 @ 81) and Fumio, who is currently in production.

Wonderful, clever toy. The headlights (2), steering wheel & spare tire are all toy tops as well as the large umbrella in the back. In the bed of the truck are 5 more tops including two fruits (peach-like fruit is not pictured).
