NAME: Yajiro traditional Japanese kokeshi pair, original boxes

MAKER: Sakyou Niiyama

SIZE: 17-1/2" (44.5cm), combined boxed weight is 9 pounds

CONDITION: There is bug damage. The red doll has two small bug holes, one on the front and one on the back of the body and two areas on the back of the head with bug trails (eaten away areas). The black doll has damage, all on the back of the head - small holes, long holes and a couple of trails. Couple of small dents on the back of the body can also barely be seen.

The original papers wrapped around the dolls were removed as there was a lot of damage. The boxes are also aged, damaged and beaten up. My preference would be to ship without the boxes.

NOTES: Mr. Niiyama was born March 18, 1934.

The pair looks new but are not. A newspaper in one of the boxes, which was removed except for the date, was dated December 14, 1982.

They will be shipped to U.S. addesses via parcel post. You are welcomed to pay the difference to upgrade to priority. Shipping weight will be 10 pounds but oversized box prices kick in. For a price perspective, had you shipped these from Japan, the shipping would have cost about $115 by air or $90 by SAL.
