VERY SPECIAL PRICE!
Japanese traditional Yajiro style wooden ejiko kokeshi created and signed by 3rd generation craftsman, Hideyuki Sato of Kijidokoro-Sato.
An Ejiko represents a baby in a basket. In years gone by, when all hands were needed in the fields, the babies would have to go too. They would be bundled up and placed in a basket for safe keeping.
This ejiko measures about 2-3/4" tall with a 2-3/4" diameter at the largest point. The front has a single plum flower and the back has a plum branch. The body is rounded on the bottom so the baby rolls around in the basket. The head is also a nodder so there's double movement. So cute!
Special notation: All of the Kijidokoro-Sato dolls are NEW. However, many of the dolls in this new shipment were damaged (dents, scratches, paint smears) during transit. Any damage will be so noted.
Also keep in mind that the dollar is at a record low against the yen. The difference is substantial. What cost $10 eight months ago will now cost $12.45.
CONDITION: There several light dents on the "basket" of each one. One ejiko has a deeper larger dent on the basket, a large scratch mark and a couple very light dents on the black hair area. This one will ship last.
