Waraku-Odori Pair Creative Kokeshi

Pair of Kokeshi on a taiko (drum), with a lamp hanging above, dancing at the Waraku-Odori or Folk Dance of Waraku festival. The heads are kokeshi but the bodies are carved wood pieces. The female's head nods.

The dolls are about 2-1/8" tall with an overall height of 4-3/4" and diameter of 2-3/8".

The age of the piece shows as far as condition. The male has some paint chips missing from his head and a piece of wood missing from both feet. The female's hat has a crack where a nail was inserted, along with glue, to keep the hat in place. Unusual piece!
