Vintage Creative Kokeshi Nodder, Mizubasho, 8-1/4"

Vintage (50's/60's) Japanese creative kokeshi nodder with flowers from a Mizubasho on the front. Mizubasho means "skunk cabbage". They bloom in spring in wetlands and is supposed to be a sight to behold but they exude a strong smell.

The doll measures 8-1/4". The bark was left intact on the top and bottom of the body. The drawing is very well done. There are some Japanese characters written on both sides of the doll.

Normal wear with a few dents on the face, a few larger ones on the back of the head and a little wood darkening (aging).
