Straw Pair, Japanese Vintage Kokeshi

Vintage pair of kokeshi dolls that are wrapped in bundled straw. They measure 5" and 5-3/16" tall. A few strands of straw show crease (bend) marks and the shorter doll has wood (age) spots on the face and on the top of the hat.

This is part of a family collection from the 50's and 60's. The father traveled to all parts of Japan on business and would bring home souvenirs for the family. These are interesting dolls as two of the folk crafts of Japan are combined, bundled straw and kokeshi.
