Porcelain Kokeshi Doll Pair

Vintage pair of porcelain kokeshi dolls measuring 3" tall. Printed in gold in the back is probably the kiln or port name. The design is very detailed and hand painted but a stencil was most likely used. The female even has a kanzashi! (hair ornament).

The condition is very good with a few scratches on the forehead and top of the male. The paint is not real smooth on his head either.

This set is part of a family collection of folk crafts from the 50's and 60's. The father traveled to all parts of Japan on business and would bring home souvenirs for the family.
