Six (6) paper mache Japanese folkcraft toys. (Please see "paper mache" under information/definitions at left for a little background on paper mache). This group includes a horse, a tiger, a rat, an ox and 2 rabbits. The horse measures 3-3/4" tall and has a bell inside. The tiger is 3" tall, the rat 2" and is weighted so it always remains standing. The ox is 2" tall and also sits upright (3"). The upright rabbit is 3-3/4" tall and the rabbit on all fours is 3" tall, including the ears. All are hand painted. Some age soiling and minor scuffing. The ox has cracks in the finish where the ears were inserted, the rat has one ear with a crease line, the upright rabbit as a few chips in the finish along the ear edges and the other rabbit has a chip in the finish at the very tip of the left ear (back side). All are very minor. Adorable set!
