Ouchi Lacquerware Plastic Trinket Box Doll Pair

NAME: Japanese Ouchi lacquerware plastic Emperor and Empress trinket box doll set, with original cardboard box/stand.

SIZE: 3-1/4" (8.2cm) tall, 3-7/8" (10cm) diameter

CONDITION: The plastic has aged and has dulled in areas. The paint on the faces has thinned or faded. There is a small dent and a couple of light scratches on the face of the emperor. The gift box is in very aged condition.

NOTES: The famous Ouchi lacquerware comes from Yamaguchi city and dates back hundreds of years. The most familiar of the Ouchi products are the Emperor & Empress doll sets. You can read background information on Ouchi lacquerware here: Ouchi

The bottom of the gift box doubles as the stand - hina style. The tops of the trinket boxes screw on. They were not attached properly in the picture.

Very rare find. First time I have seen the gift box/stand.
