Japanese lacquered wood Emperor and Empress Ouchi Doll bell pair.

The famous Ouchi lacquerware comes from Yamaguchi city and dates back hundreds of years. The most familiar of the Ouchi products is the Emperor & Empress doll set. Beautiful lacquered roundish shape dolls with long thin eyes and pursed lips. This set was made into bells.

New old stock, in mint condition. Each doll measures approximately 15/16" tall with a 1-1/8" diameter.
