Narugo Traditional Kokeshi Emperor & Empress (Hina)

NAME: Narugo traditional Japanese kokeshi Hina set which includes the Emperor and Empress on individual stands, 2 lamps, two tables with mochi (rice cakes), oval lacquered stand, screen and red felt cloth.
MAKER: Hideaki Ohnuma
SIZE: The Emperor is 3-3/8" (8.5cm) tall and the Empress, 3-1/8 (8cm) The lacquered stand is 9-7/16" x 4-15/16".
CONDITION: Several light dents and scratched areas (on the curve) on the both dolls. Tiny dent on the top of one of the rice cakes. Light scratches on the lacquered stand.
NOTES: Hina dolls are traditional Girl's Day celebration decoration. Sets can be as small as 2 dolls, the emperor and empress or as large as 15 dolls which would include their court.
Mr. Ohnuma was born in 1956.
