Pull toy made by traditional Japanese toy craftsmen. As kokeshi craftsmen, this trade is handed down from generation to generation. This toy depicts the fairy tale of Momotaro or the Peach Boy. Web-Japan.org has a cute version, complete with pictures, of Momotaro. This doll depicts the scene when he's fighting Oni (a Japanese ogre). When pulled, Momotaro's arm with stick rises and falls trying to strike Oni and at the same time, Oni's head turns in circles. The ogre measures about 5", Momotaro, 5-1/2" to the top of his head with an overall length of 6". This toy is NEW/mint. Wonderful piece.
