NAME: Modern Japanese creative Kokeshi
SIZE: 15"
MAKER: Sadao Kishi (deceased).
NOTES: Mr. Kishi was an award winning artist. His most famous doll is the "wheat" doll. He is deceased. This is an older doll, probably from the 70's or a little earlier. The sleeve and right edge of her kimono are carved.
CONDITION: Normal wear and tear including some dents, scratches and small areas where the varnish has worn, (one under her right eye). There is a hairline crack on the back running up from the bottom and five from the top of the head where a hole was drilled to attach the bun. There is some uneven darkening of the rings in the wood, around the chin, the forehead and up and the bun. In addition to the white flowers, there were two reddish ones which have faded.
