Modern Creative Kokeshi, Watanabe, "Mushin", 14"

NAME: Modern Japanese creative kokeshi titled "Mushin" or Innocence, Large

MAKER: Masao Watanabe

SIZE: 14" (35.6cm)

CONDITION: Light dents on the lower left side of the face and left side of the head. Light dings are on the lower right side of the face and the right side of the head. A 1/2" deeper dent can be seen on the doll's left front side. Looks a little sunburned on the front and left sides. Some fading of the hair on those same sides.

NOTES: Mr. Watanbe was born in 1917 and passed in 2007. He was a multi-award winning artist. This is one of his "classics". He used a textured paint technique for the kimono that looks and feels like stucco.
