NAME: Modern creative Japanese kokeshi
MAKER: Hashime Takahashi
SIZE: 7" (18cm)
CONDITION: Minor dents and scratches. Longer dent lower front, right side. The wood is darkening in some areas.
NOTES: Mr. Takahashi was born in 1918 and has passed. His son and grandson are continuing the family business, however, they mostly work on a different kind of folkcraft than kokeshi. None of the elder's new work is available for sale now. Buy them when you can if you like his work.
Nice shape and feel with an interesting flat top. Great earlier doll by Mr. Takahashi!
