NAME: Modern creative Japanese kokeshi

MAKER: Suigai Sato

SIZE: 8-1/4" (21cm), head diameter 4-1/8" (10.5cm)

CONDITION: Few minor to small dents, dings and scratches. Larger flat dent under the right eye and a small spot on the right side of the hair with varnish missing. Front of the doll has darkened and is referred to as sunburned.

NOTES: Suigai Sato was born in 1920. Multiple award winner including the Prime Minister Award in 1966.

The design is carved. Unusually large size for this style of doll. (Shown pictured with AA battery).
