NAME: Modern creative Japanese kokeshi
MAKER: Sansaku Sekiguchi
SIZE: 6-1/2" (16.5cm)
CONDITION: Couple of short deeper dents on the front right side of the hair. Scratched area that disturbed the varnish a bit under the gold bell, mid front. Few other minor dents and scratches.
NOTES: Mr. Sekiguchi was born in 1925 and is still busy creating his masterpieces. He is a multi-award winning artist which includes multiple prime minister awards. He is perhaps the most known kokeshi maker worldwide.
Unusual bangs. The wood under the bells is carved out.
