NAME: Modern creative Japanese kokeshi, original box

MAKER: Toa Sekiguchi

SIZE: 16-5/8" (42.4cm)

CONDITION: In good condition. There are six short dents in a row on the left side of the head and three little large dents and a ding on the right side of the head. Probably fell multiple times hitting the same objects.

The head also needs to be glued down. I would line up her nose at her kimono edge and turn slowly counter clockwise. Where it stops is where it originally was glued down but you can put it where ever you want it.

NOTES: Mr. Sekiguchi was born in 1942 and is a multi award winning artist.

The beautiful wood is probably keyaki (zelcova/elm family). The design is all done burnt wood style. Very elegant doll.
