NAME: Modern creative Japanese kokeshi pair

MAKER: Sanpei Yamanaka (dolls are not signed but name of doll and maker are on the box).

SIZE: about 1-3/4 & 2-1/2" (4.5 & 6.3cm)

CONDITION: Mint in box. The light spots are areas where the stain didn't take or faded with time. His early dolls often look like this. The box may show age, rusted staples, worn corners, etc.

NOTES: Mr. Yamanaka, born in 1926, is an award winning photographer and kokeshi artist.
