NAME: Modern creative Japanese kokeshi with patterns and shapes

SIZE: 15-1/4" (39cm)

CONDITION: About a dozen dents in one spot on the left side of her head and a small dent on her chin. The background green may have faded some. Hard to know what the original color was. Her head is loose but it does not come off.

NOTES: This is one of several interesting dolls purchased from one place. My feeling is that they were not made necessarily by "professional" kokeshi artist but artists just the same. The dolls are not signed but the artistry is detailed and fine.

All of the design is done burnt wood style in unusual patterns. The head looks like it's made from keyaki (Japanese zelkova). Can't tell about the rest but she is heavy. There is no wax or varnish finish.

Shipping will be at the 6 pound rate. Will ship to the U.S. via parcel post. You can always upgrade at your cost, but I can't see spending $25-30 for local postage for one doll now days.
