NAME: Japanese Modern Creative Kokeshi
MAKER: Yoshi Otani
SIZE: 7-1/8" (18.2cm)
CONDITION: Face and front are in excellent condition. Hair has some issues. Left side has a small oval almost bare spot and a 1-1/2" & 2" vertical line. Can't tell what these are. Back has 5 vertical dents up to 1/2" long and an oval "flat" dent. Right side has multiple light vertical dents, 2 larger ones. At the very bottom back is a 1" hairline crack which extends on the bottom 1-1/2"
NOTES: Cute doll with a distinct chin and lovely burnt wood design.
Mr. Otani was born in 1936. He started kokeshi crafting in 1968 and is a multi award winning artist including the prime minister award.
