NAME: Modern creative Japanese kokeshi

SIZE: 9-1/2" (24.5cm)
CONDITION: Couple of smallish dents on the left side of the head. Three small dings, mid front body.
NOTES: Classic Kuribayashi. The name of this doll is "Mugen" and won the Prime Minister Award (top prize) 1968. The colors can vary on this doll. Usually seen is a green design and red background as is this doll. Made from the lovely keyaki or Japanese Zelkova. This is the smaller size.
Mr. Kuribayashi was born in 1924 and started making creative kokeshi about 1955. He has won multiple awards including the prime minister award several times.
