NAME: Modern creative Japanese kokeshi

SIZE: 15-1/8" (39.5cm)
CONDITION: There are some condition issues, but nothing that detracts from the beauty of this doll. It looks like it was in long term storage.
The front body has a few minor to small dents and two small spots with foreign paint smudges. There are small dents and scratches on the bangs on the right side and back a little further and a few marks to the left of the bangs. The varnish on the face may be worn in spots.
Two very large dents can be seen by the signature on the back. The hair in back has a lot of scrapes, scratches, small dents and one larger dent.
The green kimono background has faded some. Greens are the first color to fade on kokeshi.
NOTES: Inosuke Kobayshi was born in 1931. He has passed but haven't been able to pinpoint the year. Multi prize winner including the coveted Prime Minister award in 1979. My information only goes to 1983.
