NAME: Modern creative Japanese kokeshi
MAKER: Inosuke Kobayashi
SIZE: 14-7/8" (37.7cm)
CONDITION: Couple of roundish "flat" dents on the right and front right sides. The one in the front has disturbed the varnish so has a whitish appearance. Couple of smaller dents on her hair and some light scratches.
Her back has some white scuff like marks. The right side shows old dried up drips of varnish.
There are a couple spots with what looks like multiple pit marks. These also give a whitish appearance. One is on the right side of her head and the other on the lower back. Several similar smaller spots are on her bangs.
NOTES: Inosuke Kobayashi was born in 1931 and has passed. Multi prize winner including the coveted Prime Minister award in 1979. My information only goes to 1983.
The name of the doll is "Hanano" or Flower Fields. She is done in all burnt wood style design. A lot of detail. The top edge her kimono sleeves are carved. Currently have another doll like this listed (see #72473). This one has her head tilted further down with her face more hidden behind her sleeves.
This doll will ship parcel post insured to U.S. addresses. You are welcome to pay the upgrade to priority.
